Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Who hosts the Midwest Leadership Summit?

The 19th Annual Midwest Leadership Summit is hosted by Central Exchange. For over 40 years, CX believes that all women should have the opportunity to reach their full potential by expanding their professional skills and growing their diverse networks through a wealth of high-quality programming and an abundance of inspiration. When ambitious women receive the opportunity to grow, it ultimately benefits everyone and leads to a more equal world.

Who should attend the Summit?

The Midwest Leadership Summit is for anyone looking to grow personally or professionally – regardless of your job title.  We have attendees from a wide-variety of industries and stages in their careers.  Since Central Exchange is a women-focused organization, we’re frequently asked if other genders can attend.  YES! Everyone is welcome for this inclusive event full of leadership development, growth and inspiration.

What are the key takeaways after attending this event?

This year we’re taking a holistic approach with a 360-view of your life and career. Throughout the day you will sharpen your leadership skill set with tactical, practical and strategic ideas from the best leaders during our keynote and breakout sessions.  By the end of the event, you should have more of a concrete path to  move forward and achieve what’s next for you.

Please explain more about the hybrid event format.

We understand that everyone has different preferences for attending events. That’s why we’ve designed the Summit as a hybrid in person or online leadership retreat again this year. Attendees may choose to attend in person at the Overland Park Convention Center or to attend online where they will be able to view and interact with the inspirational content via our virtual conference platform.  No matter how you choose to attend, know that attending the Midwest Leadership Summit in 2022 will help you chart the course to move your path forward and achieve what’s next for you.

What health and safety guidelines will be
implemented for in-person attendees?

For those of you who are comfortable attending in person, we’re taking all of the necessary steps to help you come back to live events with confidence and enjoy your experience throughout the day. Your health and safety is our top priority.

Those precautions include:

  • Masks: Although it is not required, we encourage mask wearing if it makes you feel comfortable.  As we continue to monitor COVID-19 locally, we will ultimately be adhering to local guidelines as it relates to mask use.
  • Venue: The Overland Park Convention Center has achieved the Global Biorisk Advisory Council STAR Facility accreditation, the industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities.  This ensures that the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention are implemented within the facility. This includes having hand sanitizer stations available throughout the event.
  • Seating and Spacing: There will be socially-distanced seating in all of the breakout rooms and the main ballroom.  There will also be intentional traffic flow to reduce the number of people moving at one time
  • Food and Beverage: Similar to last year, there will be served or pre-packaged food and beverage only. We will not have have any buffet style eating options.
  • Physical Touching: While many at the event are vaccinated and/or not concerned about the health risks that physical touch may present, we request that all attendees be respectful for those who may not want any handshakes, hugs, fist bumps, etc.

What sponsorship levels are available?

We have 5 different sponsorship levels available, and other various ways you can help CX bring this event to life. With your commitment to business excellence, organizational diversity, and the professional development of women in your workforce, we invite your company to be a part of this incredible day.

Discover more on our sponsorship page with more detail on how you can become a sponsor of the 2022 Midwest Leadership Summit. Please note that the deadline to become a Platinum, Gold or Silver sponsor is Wednesday, March 30, and the deadline to become a Bronze or Copper sponsor is Wednesday, April 6.

What is the last day to register for individual tickets?

The deadline to purchase individual in-person tickets is Friday, April 15 at 5pm, and individual virtual tickets is the morning of the event on Tuesday, April 26 at 8am.

If you are purchasing a table with 10 in-person guests or 20 virtual guests, we ask that you purchase the table no later than Wednesday, April 6 so we can still add your logo to the day-of marketing.

Please note that in order to be able to attend the Pre-Summit Learnshop live, all tickets must be purchased no later than 1 day before the Learnshop (date to be determined), otherwise a recording will be made available for those who miss it.

Do I need to register separately for the Pre- and Post Summit Learnshops?

All individual and group ticket purchases include (1) Pre-Summit Learnshop and (4) Post-Summit Learnshops (all dates to be determined).  You will be automatically registered for the Pre-Summit Learnshop if your ticket is purchased at least one day prior to the program.  After the Midwest Leadership Summit, all attendees will be emailed a link and code to register for each individual Post-Summit Learnshop.  Recordings of all Learnshops will be available after the individual programs happen, however if you’re able, we do suggest you attend on the scheduled dates for the best experience.

What will be recorded on April 26 and when will the recordings be available?

All of the keynote and breakout sessions will be recorded.  Those recordings will be made available on a Vimeo Showcase within 1 week following the Midwest Leadership Summit.  All in-person and virtual attendees will have access to the recordings and will receive an email notifying them when the recordings are available.  All recordings will be viewable until April 25, 2023.

What happens if I pay, and then I’m not able to attend?

Unfortunately, ticket fees for in-person and virtual attendees are non-refundable.  The bright side is if you registered for an in-person ticket and are no longer able to attend in-person, we can easily change your ticket to virtual so you can view everything live.  Plus, all ticket holders will have access to the recordings and all digital content following the event.
