To the Central Exchange community,
As a nonprofit community organization, the safety and health of our members, guests and everyone who walks through our doors is our number one concern. We want to share with you our organization-wide plan.
As of today, Central Exchange is closing our facility to the public and suspending in-person programs through April 17 as we do our part to slow the spread of coronavirus. Community is at the heart of Central Exchange’s mission. That’s why we’re hard at work developing relevant, digital-first programming in light of this crisis to connect us and provide the community that we all need during this time.
What this means:
- Central Exchange in-person events and programs will either go digital, be rescheduled or cancelled from now until April 17. Please check our program calendar for the latest.
- You do not need to cancel online for your program registrations.
- Central Exchange is developing a plan to host virtual programs via a webinar platform. More details on digital programs will be announced via our website, email and social media channels in the coming days. These digital programs will be different from our current virtual streaming as they will be done 100% digital/remote.
- Our April 23 Midwest Leadership Summit event is postponed until July 23. See this announcement here.
- In-person meetings for our staff will be restructured to phone/video calls and staff will be working remotely.

What this doesn’t mean:
- Central Exchange is not closed! We will continue working on projects and programs to deliver the best member experience during these unprecedented times, but instead of coming into the office, we will be working remotely.
- Programs haven’t stopped. We are developing digital-first programs to provide connection and community during this time.
Central Exchange will continue to closely monitor the development of COVID-19, and we will be in touch with any further updates on this policy.
We encourage all in our community to take precautions outlined by the CDC for their personal wellbeing and safety.
