With a little more than a year to go until the doors open, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts has already changed the skyline of Kansas City. Its intriguing sculptural form welcomes all to a revitalized downtown. Much more than an impressive architectural icon, the 285,000 square foot facility hosts two performance venues: the 1,800-seat Muriel Kauffman Theatre and the 1,600-seat Helzberg Hall, and will serve as a permanent reminder to future generations of a historic commitment to our community. It will surely be counted among the finest performing arts centers internationally.
