The office of the Attorney General provides legal services to other state agencies and boards, promotes open and accountable government, protects consumers from fraud, assists crime victims and defends the state in civil proceedings. Steve Six was appointed attorney general – the state’s chief law enforcement officer - in 2008 by then Governor Kathleen Sebelius. Since that time he has worked to restore public confidence in the office after the scandal of his predecessor. Six is running for re-election in November as a Democrat. Join us to meet the Attorney General and find out how his office serves the citizens of Kansas.

Note: The Republican candidate for Attorney General will be identified on August 3 in the primary. In the interest of fairness, that person will be invited to speak in the Political Talk series before the November election.

The Political Talk series aims to promote interest in the political process as we meet elected officials, candidates and political experts and discuss local and national issues.
